Pureflow’s Saltwater Protein Skimmers are specially engineered to deliver superior foam fractionation in marine aquaculture systems, public aquariums, and oceanariums. These skimmers are designed to efficiently remove dissolved organic compounds, fine particulates, and unwanted proteins from saltwater environments, helping maintain crystal-clear water and optimal living conditions for aquatic species.

Pureflow Protein Skimmers (PSK) efficiently remove organic compounds through centrifugal mechanical separation and enhanced ozone and oxygen infusion. A low-pressure venturi pump injects ozonated air into the water as a fine stream of microbubbles, significantly improving foam formation and contaminant removal.

As the microbubbles rise through the water column, they attract and bind proteins, fats, and surface-active compounds. These materials coagulate and accumulate into a dense foam layer. The skimmer collects this foam and discharges it through an effluent pipe to either the sewer or a backwash treatment system.

The system also eliminates fine particulates below 40 microns, which naturally bind into the rising foam. This dual-action process enhances water clarity, reduces COD, and supports superior oxygen transfer rates.
